Pokemon Card Stories

Have you ever taken something you weren't supposed to? When I was younger I took some pokemon cards while at a friend’s house and it was a really bad heist, but maybe not because of the reason you are thinking. I was at a dinner party at a friend’s house. We went through a pokemon card collection probably belonging to him and his dad and I may have swiped a few. The dinner party went on, I remember there was some device, maybe a Wii we could play Super Mario 3D world on so I was distracted from the guilt of stealing the cards. I probably realized I stole the cards when we were leaving, but I do not think anyone noticed if I was acting weird. When I got home I probably admired the cards for a bit and then put them in a box because what other use is there for pokemon cards then admiring them to promptly forget about them? Playing the game? A couple months pass by and I am probably playing New Super Mario Bros Wii U at a different friend’s house who happens to be cousins with the fr...

WiChat and Blogs

Would you mind if your parents blogged about you? I would definitely mind if my parents blogged about me. My parents use an app called WeChat which they would probably use to blog if they were to blog or have blogged about me. I do not know because I do not have the app, but they could be currently blogging about me and I would not know and would frankly not want to find out. I do not expect them to be blogging about me because they have a lot going on in their lives. Plus I think unless they are only writing about me they would need to secretly take photos which I have not seen them doing. When I say parents I mostly mean my mom. I would be extremely surprised and maybe a little uncomfortable if my dad were to blog or has blogged about me because I do not think he is that type of person. He’s chill. My mom on the other hand, I could definitely see her blogging about me. In fact she probably has mentioned me in her WeChat posts. The only photos she could possibly have would be ph...

Kids Plus and Basketball Stories

What hobbies have been passed down from your family? One hobby that has been passed down from my family include basketball. I probably played basketball when I was younger, but the last time I remembered playing basketball was in kindergarten and first grade. When I was in kindergarten and first grade my parents signed me up for an after school program called Kids Plus. Besides the awesome name, Kids Plus was a program where kids of all grades in my old school Carie Busey would do after school activities. One of the games I picked was knockout. Knockout is a basketball game where everyone lines up and if the person behind you makes a shot before you do you are out. I remember I used to not be strong enough to shoot the first shot overhanded, so I would shoot underhanded. This shooting technique is also called the “granny shot” which I guess was to make fun of the way you shoot because you look like a grandma. Fortunately, I do not remember being made fun of too much for doing the grann...

Daily Rewards

I would not consider any of my parents as a helicopter parent which according to Google is “a parent who takes an overprotective or excessive interest in the life of their child or children”. In fact, they are the opposite. Mostly, I am free to do whatever I want besides maybe a few chores here and there, but this has not always been the case.      When I was in grade school there was one rule that I had to follow which was to not play video games during the weekdays. Looking back I know this was for the best, but at the time this rule felt so cruel, but so fair. I have always been a mobile gamer from daycare when I first discovered Angry Birds to now while playing Pokemon TCG Pocket. There was one thing I remember I could not have. The bane of mobile gamers, also known as daily rewards.  You might be thinking what's so good about daily rewards? Well, a lot of the games I played had daily rewards which were rewards that could be collected every day. They were small b...

Life of a Green Blanket

One object that could tell the story of my life is my green blanket. Although I am not exactly sure when I got it, I remember having it as a baby. I would say my green blanket tells a story of my memories because of how long I have had it, and it is one of my most prized possessions. Maybe not so much as when I was little, needing it to fall asleep, but because of the stories that came with it.  What set apart my green blanket from any other blanket was the texture. In my entire life, I have not found one blanket that can mimic the texture of my green blanket. The blanket is made up of strings about the same size as yarn, but way less fuzzy. The blanket was woven together with the strings to the thickness of one of the strings so it is pretty thin. When pulled the blanket creates some elasticity as the woven strings loosen up. The strings are also woven together like a bunch of waves and you can individually feel the strings as they work together to form the entire blanket.  A...
